Glenn and Nat on first valentines day.

Just the two of us….

Hey there, I’m Nat and this is my fiance Glenn - yep, we’re another Tinder success story!

This was us in 2015 (our first valentines selfie), dreaming of starting a family: before menopause, before cancelled IVF rounds and before the journey into donor eggs.

Having met Glenn later in life, I knew it was probably not going to be easy to fall pregnant - never did I anticipate that I would only have 1% left of my eggs left. After 2 cancelled IVF rounds, using donor eggs was the only way that my dream of being a mum was going to come true!

I was told I could either look for a donor here in Australia or go overseas. I had vaguely heard about donor eggs but had no idea how it all worked, where to go or what to do. My Fertility Specialist suggested either going to Cape Town in South Africa or San Diego in the U.S.A. After much research, we decided to go over to South Africa - and it was one of the best decisions we ever made!

We were very lucky that our first ever transfer worked and we were blessed with a beautiful little boy, Jenson Alan Poyser, born on 26th January 2018.

What’s the reason behind the book?

During COVID lockdown in 2020, I started my research on donor conception books. It was time to start the process of explaining to my son about his donor egg conception. I wanted to support someone locally who had written a children’s book in this space…...but my search came up blank!

Next I went to Amazon - and whilst I did find a few books, I didn’t love them! I was looking for something that:

  • rhymed;

  • wasn’t too technical with regards to its explanation of this process; and

  • was enjoyable for me to read aka enjoyable for the kids too!

With all this in mind, I put pen to paper in September 2020 and came up with a very rough draft of a rhyming book. A few edits later (ok, a lot of edits), I had the finished product. A beautiful rhyming book for parents. A fun and easy book for your children to understand their donor egg conception.

I’m super passionate about the donor egg community! There needs to be more books available for our children to learn about how they were conceived. I’m excited to have published my debut book in September 2021 to help more families do this!

Mission Statement

Every child deserves to know about their DNA.

We are on a mission to support as many families as possible. To help them educate their children about donor conception. So that they can grow up knowing how they were conceived.
